FAQ
Who do you work with?
Laurie works with adults seeking holistic, trauma-informed therapy, including those experiencing grief, trauma, major life changes, emotional burnout, and a desire for deeper balance and self-connection.
Do I need a diagnosis or specific issue?
No. Many clients begin therapy with a general sense that something needs care or attention. Sessions are guided by what feels most present and safe for you.
Is your approach trauma-informed?
Yes. Laurie’s work is trauma-informed, client-centered, and nervous-system aware. You are never asked to relive traumatic experiences or move faster than your body and mind are ready for.
What if I feel nervous about starting therapy?
Feeling unsure is completely normal. Laurie creates a calm, grounded environment where clients feel respected, supported, and met exactly where they are.
Are sessions emotional or intense?
They can be emotional, but sessions are not designed to overwhelm. The focus is on regulation, grounding, and sustainable healing rather than emotional intensity. Whatever comes up for you is meant to be released and is encouraged, supported, never forced & never judged.
Do I have to talk the whole time?
No. Silence, reflection, and non-verbal experiences are welcome. You choose what you share and when.
How do I know if this therapy is right for me?
If you’re seeking gentle, holistic, trauma-informed support rather than quick fixes, this work may be a good fit. You’re welcome to reach out with questions before booking.
Are all sessions in person?
No. All Clinical Hypnotherapy & coaching program sessions are currently delivered online via zoom. Only our Equine sessions are in person.
Do I have to have any horse experience?
No! No Riding or experience is needed. All sessions are done "at liberty" - which means the horses are free to come and go as they need to during your session. You don't have to be in the arena with them - we can even do the sessions outside of the fence if you are unsure about being close to them.
